Keep Paul J!

It was announced today that KBOI, also known as "Broncos Radio" has lost the Bronco sports broadcasting account. So maybe KBOI rested on their laurels when the bidding came up since they've broadcast games for about 1 million years...but to deny future Bronco generations of the soothing baritone of Paul J. Schneider would be a GROSS injustice. Paul J. has been the voice of the Broncos for about 750,000 of those million years and warts and all...we love the guy.

I implore all of Bronco nation to sign this here petition to let the powers that be know that we won't let Paul J. go swiftly into the night.

Paul J. is a complete joke. He made the games unbearable. Most of the time you didn't even know what was happening in the game. I cant believe this bum has been on the air this long. What a loser!

I suppose that Harry Caray was regarded as the "best color-man in the biz". Or what about John Madden? Paul J IS the voice of the Broncos...he's not perfect, but he's a freakin' institution and Bronco fans love him because of his devotion to the team and his "interesting" announcing style, not because he's perfect. You're certainly entitled to your opininion, but no one that has bled blue and orange for 35 years should be cast aside so easily.

I've been a bronco fan for my entire life, and I appreciate the enthusiasm Paul J has shown towards BSU athletics. However, I am very hopefull the new broadcaster can atleast have some professionalism as a broadcaster. Paul J actually makes me want to not listen to the Bronco games and just watch gamecast on ESPN. Thanks for your hard work Paul J, but I'm not said to see you go.

First hearing Paul J wasnt going to be broadcasting the BSU games anymore I rejoiced. Finally we dont have to listen to this idiot destroy the broadcast. Then I thought about it. Paul J has been part of BSU athletics for 35 years. Paul J has bled the blue and orange with us. And then I thought, who cares, he fricken blows goates. Good riddence.

Let me bottom line this Paul J issue. Paul J is an Assclown. An "institution"? Institution for retards maybe. Nice name too. Hi "I'm Paul J. Schneider, I'm a fricken retard".

Actually I'm a huge Bronco fan. I'm just not a Paul J. fan. I think the "J" stands for "Jackass". It will be good for the program if he doesnt return as our spokesman.

You're right Drew, Paul J does have an "interesting" announcing style er......sounds like Corky from Steps of Life....er...... sounds like a mentally disabled Forrest Gump.

We should give Paul J to the Vandals. You talk about adding insult to injury. That would be like giving a fat girl another BigMac.

You're definitely in the minority, here guys and gals. Paul J means a lot to the community and especially longtime Bronco fans. I honestly doubt any real Bronco fan would refer to anyone that is as big of a supporter of Bronco athletics as Paul J as an "assclown".

Maybe Paul J means something to old timers. Maybe, because they're just as confused as him. However, the fans I have talked ages 20 - 35think the program would benefit by his absence. Most importantly Gene Blaymeir has decided Paul J is an assclown. He has his pulse on the community and the fans more than you or I. And he has said you Paul J lovers are in the minority. Deal with it.

Wait a second Blake. I'm and old timer, and I'm smart enough to know Paul J. has no business being on the radio. I wouldnt say he is an ass clown, but I do think the broadcast is a little hard to follow when 1 minute BSU is playing Fresno State and the next minute Paul J has decided its actually WeberState. Or is it Paul J? What the hell is going on?

Okay, okay...so maybe Paul J is a little long in the tooth, but like I said before...he is a Boise State icon and whether he is the best color man in the biz or not...he is the voice of the Broncos. I think people aren't really understanding why people would be sad to see Paul J go. It is NOT because he is a talent like Howard Cosell or Bob Costas...if you can't go to bat for a guy that has given 35 years of his life to Bronco football and basketball—you must have another agenda. Did he block you in at a restaurant? Not tip you for coffee? Paul J is a good guy and a true Bronco.

I know alot of good guys and alot of "true" Broncos. That is not a qualification for being a broadcaster. This is about a bigger fan base, this is about a bigger program, this is about money. It's not about being nice. It's not show friends, its show business. Good grief Drew, how naive are you?

He is the voice of the Broncos and he does represent BSU. Thats the fricken problem. He's a complete emabarrasment to the program, who doesnt deserve to broadcast womens high school JV games, let alone college football. Maybe, he could clean the port a potties at the stadium on game day. That way I could take a deuce on him.

I do have an agenda, and it is too support BSU football and their efforts to make the program stronger. Getting rid of Paul J is another step in the right direction. And BSU doesnt owe him anything. He's had the best job a Bronco fan could have for too long. Basically a dream job. He should have been fired years ago. Very few are sad to see him go.

"Take a deuce on him"...that settles it...you are twelve. No comments for you.

I always have to laugh when a change in play-by-play voices comes about because of all the fans that scream "he's our man, and the games won't be the same if he's not calling the game." I say baloney. Where were all of you 35 years ago when the previous voice of Boise State moved on or stepped down or whatever? Were you screaming that the games wouldn't be the same? I must tell you that in a few years, you will love the new play-by-play voice of Boise State just as much as you do Paul Schneider. And if that person gets cut out of a new deal, you all will be saying "he must stay, it won't be the same without him." Times and seasons change. Do you really want Paul Schneider to die in the booth like Harry Carry did with the Cubs? That was an embarrasment. Please realize that this is business and that's just the way things go in today's world. Paul Schneider has been great for BSU, but due to circumstances beyond his control, it may all come to an end. It's not a bad thing. It will be different, but change can be a good thing.
